Yamaaki – Toshio Kataoka, Tokoname, Japan.
An unglazed shohin-sized pot in a formal round semi-cascade design, made by Toshio Kataoka, of the Yamaaki kiln of Tokoname. Probably the most well known of Tokoname kilns, the Yamaaki kiln operated from 1926 to 2012.
This elegant round pot has a good planting depth, banding to the body, and an attractive rope design detail lip to the rim.
In excellent condition.
Stamped and signed by the artist - reads: 山秋 (Yamaaki).
External measurements (max): 13.7cm x 8cm
