Yamaaki – Tokoname, Japan.
An unglazed 24.7cm oval bonsai pot in a traditional bad style design, made by the Yamaaki kiln of Tokoname. Probably the most well known of Tokoname kilns, the Yamaaki kiln operated from 1926 to 2012.
This elegant oval Yamaaki production pot pays homage to an older Chinese designer and has recessed feet and a traditional Fukurou / bag-style lip to the rim. Detail has also been afforded the underside of the pot, with a recessed panel and well placed drainage holes.
In excellent condition.
Stamped: 山秋 (Yamaaki).
External measurements (max): 24.7cm x 16.5cm x 4.9cm
Made by 'Yamaaki', Tokoname, Japan.
