Toshi Kataoka - Yamaaki

A rarer design of pot by the famous and now closed Yamaaki kiln of Tokoname.

The pot is made in a round design, with exquisite details including basket weave finish and tie-string detail to the rim. The pot has a recessed base and is hand signed by the artist.

Since the kiln closed in 2011, pots by Yamaaki are increasingly collectible. This was the most productive kiln in Tokoname for almost 100 years before closing and wares are very highly regarded.
