Alex & the EBPC Potters!
Terre en Vadrouille - France.
The impressive finish on this well made piece is an old Japanese glaze called Kairagi yu (made famous by Lmaoka Machinao), also known as a crawling or brain glaze in the west. This especially fine example is made from a darker clay and has great proportions for a deeper profile bowl.
The pot has a slight lip to the rim and sits on a foot ring, with arch carved recesses. This 'brick-like' cream glaze on the bare brown clay is a winner!
Maximum External Measurements: 14.3cm (l) x 6.1cm (h).
