Alex & the EBPC Potters!
A beautifully made 18.5cm hexagonal semi-cascade style pot with superb carved 'mushikui' or 'bug-eaten' detail.
This fine unglazed piece is well-formed from a beautiful reddish clay, in this exquisite design. The pot has great proportions and sits on recessed cloud feet. The body of the pot is decorated in a superb version of the carved 'mushikui' or bug eaten detail - as made famous c.100 years ago by the Yamaaki '山秋' kiln of Tokoname. This excellent piece is stamped with the logos of the artist, and of the EBPC.
Andrew Pearson's work is highly sought after and he was the first-ever Westerner to enter (and win!) the Gafu-ten pot contest with his unglazed works.
