Alex & the EBPC Potters!
SOLD - Stone Monkey Ceramics - EBPC Dual Stamped Drum Pot
An outstanding and unique unglazed hexagonal bonsai pot, expertly formed from a fantastic reddish clay and decorated with both 'mushikui' and 'ume flowers' designs.
The pot is beautifully made with six sides, each that gently curve out to a slight lip at the rim. The mushikui, or 'bug bitten' design is well refined and penetrates even the rim of the pot. Delicate flowers of the 'ume' or Plum also decorate the pot on two fronts, and the piece sits proudly on six complimentary cloud feet. The pot is hand-signed by the artist, and also stamped with the Stone Monkey and the EBPC stamps.
Andrew Pearson's work is highly sought after and he was the first ever Westener to enter, and to win the Gafu-ten pot contest with his unglazed works.
