Alex & the EBPC Potters!
Hokido; Naoyuki Maenami, Tokoname, Japan
A large-sized unglazed 'antique mirror shaped' pot, made by the deceased master, Naoyuki Maenami, better known as ‘Hokido’ of Tokoname - a kiln that closed in the early 1980's.
This piece was made from a quality blend of clays and has a wonderful burnished vermillion finish. The pot has detailed cloud feet with a basal band in relief above and an excellent 'antique mirror shape' form.
The pot bears the Hokido stamp and is in excellent condition, with patina forming nicely.
External measurements: (Max) 32.2cm (length) x 6.7cm (height).
Made by: Hokido - Naoyuki Maenami of Tokoname, Japan.
