Hattori Tomoyuki - Tokoname, Japan

A large elegant handmade oval, dressed in this superb signature glaze, by the popular deceased artist, Hattori Tomoyuki of Tokoname.

This rare 50cm sized oval retains the same elegant design as smaller versions of this same pot design by Hattori. The formal banding and rim, give the impression the pot is shallower than it is, and the soft curves are shaped feet add to the pot's femininity.

There is a historic firing crack to one drainage hole (during the firing process). The pot has been used for decades since without issue, so it is deemed structurally sound. The price has been reduced however to reflect this.

The glaze is a signature glaze by the artist - a superb semi translucent Olive green, with subtle hints of salmon pink peeking through. A crackle to the glaze enhances the aged feel of the pot.

External (max): 50cm (l) x 37cm (w) x 7.5cm (h)
