Gyouzan – Nakano Gyouzan - 1st Generation Gyouzan, Tokoname.

An unglazed hand-signed bonsai pot in a superb design by the artist generally considered the world's leading artisan for unglazed bonsai pots.

From Gyouzan's highest quality line (being hand-signed) and in a wonderful deep nanban-like design, one side of the pot has been subtly altered to give a more natural feel, and an element of direction / movement to the pot and bonsai.

This design also has inclined walls leading to a subtle lip, which is decorated in a rope-like design. Underneath are cut feet and recessed wire holes, and Gyouzan's nail carved signature.

The pot was hand-formed from Gyouzan’s high quality blend of clays, and it has a lovely rich feel to the finish.
