Gramming Pot

A refined multi-fluted design pot, expertly hand made and wood-fired by leading European bonsai potter, Tomas Gramming.

The unique piece boasts a stunning design and exceptional natural tones. The pot was thrown on a potters wheel, and then carved to this precise multi-fluted design. The theme continues to the rim of the pot, and to the base the pot sits on recessed carved feet left in an unglazed clay finish.

For the nerds out there, the finish is not actually a glaze, but is a vitrified engobe that was brushed on in varying thicknesses. The thickness determines the resulting colour. Much of the engobe was also wiped off in areas, resulting in a greater variation of colours. ... Black is the bare clay, green is the thinnest layer of engobe, then brown, and white is where the engobe was applied the thickest.
