Gramming Pot -

A magnificent wood-fired bonsai pot in a Lotus flower design, and exceptional finish.

The pot has a beautiful design, with a relief pattern around the body, in the form of Lotus flower petals. The design is further enhanced by the basal band and delicate carved feet detail, left in an unglazed clay finish.

For the nerds out there, the finish is not actually a glaze, but is a vitrified engobe that was brushed on in varying thicknesses. The thickness determines the resulting colour. Much of the engobe was also wiped off in areas, resulting in a greater variation of colours. ... Black is the bare clay, green is the thinnest layer of engobe, then brown, and white is where the engobe was applied the thickest.
