GYOUZAN, Nakano Yukizyou, Tokoname, Japan.

A superior quality, hand-signed 60cm bonsai pot in a soft rectangle design, by the great Gyouzan of Tokoname.

Before his sad passing recently, Gyouzan was widely recognised as the world's leading living artist for unglazed wares, Nakano Yukizyou is the founder and 1st generation artist of Tokonam'e Gyouzan kin.

This XL sized pot was hand-formed from a quality Gyouzan blend of clays with warm dappled kaki tones, to this classic elegant form. Images are provided in varying light conditions to show the true tones.

The pot has a soft corner design, with a soft outward lip, complimented by the straight lines of the basal banding beneath. Sitting on recessed feet, this shibui pot has sharp, clean lines and gentle curves, and the artist has added a 'show stamp' visible externally, as a sign he is proud of this piece. Over time a beautiful patina is developing.

Hand-signed & Stamped by the artist. * With additional external 'show-stamp'.
