GYOUZAN, Nakano Yukizyou, Tokoname, Japan.
A superior unglazed rectangle in a soft mokko design, by the great Gyouzan of Tokoname.
Widely recognised as the world's leading artist for unglazed wares, Nakano Yukizyou is the founder and 1st generation artist of Tokonam'e Gyouzan kin.
This 48cm soft mokko is made from a quality Shidei purple brown clay to a commanding yet elegant form. The pot sits on stepped, sightlyly outward leaning recessed feet, and has banding to the base, which compliments the lip above. The lip is also finished with a refined raised boarder, comlimenting the overall 'shibui' design. Over time a beautiful patina has developed.
Stamped by the artist.
Maximum measurements (External): 48.3cm x 40.2cm x 17.2cm.
