Alex & the EBPC Potters!
Eddie Curtis, England.
A dynamic rectangle in a rugged, lithic finish, made by the highly acclaimed studio potter, Eddie Curtis.
Born from a love of bonsai, and a lifetime mastering studio pottery, this shohin+ sized rectangle was expertly formed and simply oozes with character. The remarkable rugged, seemingly lithic aesthetic was achieved through meticulous sculptural work and the application of multiple textural and glaze techniques.
Using a variety of methods to create the varied textured surfaces, the artist has given the pot a tactile and very natural look, which is further enhanced by the effective use of glaze techniques including glaze layering, and glaze effects such as kairagi you (crawling glaze).
With a generous planting depth, excellent movement, and rugged finish, the pot would suit perfectly a variety of conifers and other trees with masculine features.
Stamped by the artist.
External measurements: 21.3cm (l) x 16cm (w) x 6cm (h).
