SOLD - Dragonfly Bonsai Pots.
A superb example of a soft cornered rectangle, meticulously and accurately hand-built using the coil technique. Although mostly used for round pots, this fine piece reminds us of the possibilities of this technique when used with expertise.
This piece has recessed feet, and a banding detail to the rim. The finished is an stone grey with hints of rusty reddish-brown tones. Although the pot has a relatively smooth finish, on closer inspection the clay has a wonderful texture and it is further enhanced by a subtle 'mushikui' effect detail.
Grey clay (known as Udei in Japan) is well known for being the most versatile of clay colours as it compliments most coniferous species.
