A striking, very attractive 40.7cm rectangle made by one of the most collectible of European potters. Derek Aspinall was a pioneer of bonsai ceramics in the U.K., and remains an inspiration to many of today’s European ceramists. Derek sadly passed away over 2 decades ago, and his work are now highly sought after.

A corner of the pot had a repair made at some stage. The damage was external and not structural, as highlighted in the images.

This beautiful deeper style pot is a great example of Aspinal’s work. Precision is key and the pot has great form and is finished in natural hues of mint green and browns, with darker brown basal banding in relief.

An excellent collector's piece and a very useable pot.
