Dan Barton - Iconic 2010 made XL drum-style pot.
Potentially Dan Barton's most iconic creation - this exceptional hand-made bonsai pot boasts an exquisite glaze, over an enviable drum-style design, in a semi-cascade form.
The pot has a wonderful aged feel, with a row of detailed rivets to the rim, rivet design feet and a luxurious running glaze in rich tones of rusty brown and verdigris - the natural blue-green patina that forms on copper, or bronze when it corrodes. Pre-loved, and carefully used for over a decade, the pot has 'aged' gracefully. The beginnings of a patina will further improve this piece over time.
Born in 1938 in Hong Kong, Dan Barton was one of Europe's great pioneering artists in bonsai pottery and has been creating bonsai pots for over 50 years. He remains one of Europe's most influential and highly respected bonsai potters. After 16 years, Dan Barton still uses the image of this iconic pot for the 'glazed category' of his own website (as per the screenshot)
Stamped & hand-signed by the artist. Hand-written: Feel my touch - touch my feelings. Dansai 2010
