Amdouni Bonsai Pot - Bats.

A rectangular bonsai pot in a fantastic design, with sculpting in relief and a superb glazed finish.

This graceful bonsai pot was expertly made from porcelain to this magnificent design. This unique design has an extra vertical joint to the ends, emulated in the rim, and the pot sits on complimentary carved feet. The body of the pot is decorated with carved motifs in reliefs depicting bats in flight. One small bat however is recessed, with all others in relief. A nice subtle detail. The pot is dressed in a wonderful semi-translucent Seiji yu, or celadon glazed finish. The detail in the bats in quite superb!

Celadon is an ancient glaze from China that people have tried to emulate for years. Originally the translucent green was revered by Emperors who likened it to the most precious of stones, Jade.
