Alex & the EBPC Potters!
YAMAAKI - Akiji Kataoka,(Shosen) Tokoname.
A vintage 40cm soft cornered rectangle in a classic design and clean light blue Kinyo glaze, by the founder of the great Yamaaki kiln of Tokoname.
This elegant handmade pot has a rectangular form, with soft corners and a slight lip to the rim. The pot has recessed feet and is finished in a light blue Kino glaze - a classic glaze that has proven popular for decades, as it goes so well with so many leaf colours. The Yamaaki kiln was arguably the most proficient and well known of all the Tokoname kilns, and was in operation from 1926 to its sad closure in 2011. This pot was made the founder (and 1st of 3 generations), Akiji Kataoka, who passed away in 1990.
Stamped by the artist.
Maximum measurements (External): 40.5cm x 31cm x 6.5cm.
Made by: YAMAAKI - Akiji Kataoka,(Shosen) Tokoname.
This pot is being sold on behalf of a client, and will be shipped from the UK - with all of the usual EBPC guarantees!
